FIT Program

All Fellows-in-Training are encouraged to participate in activities designed to meet their unique needs and interests at the Annual Meeting. There are ample opportunities to gain new insights into the specialty, expand your professional network, and participate in a wide range of educational and social events. Make the most of the meeting by taking advantage of the various opportunities listed on this page.

Special Events

Friday, October 25

  • 4:30 – 6:00 pm: FIT Integrated Educational Program and Business Meeting
    Room 302, Hynes Convention Center
    Advocating for Yourself and Patients in Clinical Practice
    The session will highlight policy issues affecting the field, the role of allergists in identifying and mitigating barriers to care, and how to champion for yourself and your patients. You will also have an opportunity to vote for our next Junior FIT Representative to the Board of Regents.
  • 6:00 – 7:30 pm: Presidents Welcome Reception
    Grand Ballroom, Sheraton Boston Hotel
    Join us for fun, food, and socializing! The reception is a great opportunity to connect with others in the A/I community.

Saturday, October 26

  • 6:30 – 7:15 AM: Fellows-in-Training and Allergy/Immunology Program Directors’ Breakfast (Registration Required).
    Grand Ballroom, Sheraton Boston Hotel
    Connect with Program Directors and other FITs across the county during this complimentary breakfast.
  • 11:30 am – 3:00 pm: Doctors' Job Fair
    Hall A, Hynes Convention Center
    Accelerate your job search! Join us for our Job Fair where representatives of clinics, groups, and physicians’ offices will be conducting interviews for those seeking professional opportunities.
  • 5:45 – 7:45 pm: 33rd Annual FIT Bowl Competition
    Ballroom BC, Hynes Convention Center
    Come see over 25 teams compete in a fast-paced competition, testing their knowledge with questions from an expert panel, all battling to win the coveted FIT Bowl trophy. Cheer on the contestants and enjoy an open bar and appetizers!

Sunday, October 27

  • 11:30 am – 1:00 pm: Fellows-in-Training and Allergy/Immunology Program Directors’ Luncheon (Registration Required)

Clemens von Pirquet Awards

Each year, three awards are given to FIT members recognized for outstanding research. These abstracts will be presented at the meeting.

 

Junior FIT Representative Election

Are you a first-year FIT (or know one in your program) who would like to step into a position of leadership and represent the needs of FITs at a national level? Apply (or nominate someone) to become our next Junior FIT Representative to the Board of Regents. Candidates will be presented and voted on during Friday’s FIT Integrated Educational Program and Business Meeting, 4:30-6:00 pm, Room 302, Hynes Convention Center.

 

FIT Scholarships

The College will be offering more than 200 FIT Scholarships to FITs attending the Annual Meeting. Be sure to get your application in if you would like to be considered. The deadline to apply is August 23, 2024.
