What's in store?

The feedback we received from our members and attendees during the online proposal process was key to planning the this year's meeting. We're focused on providing the most up-to-date information via sessions that offer practical tips you can implement into practice. Experts and thought leaders from within our specialty will offer insight and guidance for clinical conundrums we all face daily in practice. Exhibits, e-posters and our popular social events will continue to provide opportunities for networking and reconnecting with friends and colleagues.

Attend the Thursday symposium and get the latest information on two fronts: the diagnosis and treatment of cough and the utilization and cost-effectiveness of biologics for various allergic conditions. As a follow-up to 2019’s popular Thunderdome, Thursday’s symposium will end with a Showdown at the Biologics OK Corral: Three allergists enter, one allergist leaves.

We have some amazing plenary sessions planned:

  • Saturday’s plenary will feature our keynote speaker, Harold Miller, President and CEO for the Center for Healthcare Quality and Payment Reform. This insightful session will discuss important factors that impact our ability to care for the patients we see every day.
  • Sunday’s plenary takes a deep dive into concepts surrounding risk with patients, how the skin is the gateway to allergic conditions, and consideration of how to best utilize component testing for various allergens.
  • Monday’s plenary will offer high yield updates from important guidelines published in 2020, including the NHLBI asthma guidelines and practice parameters on anaphylaxis, rhinitis, and diagnostic testing for peanut allergy.

Perennial favorites such as the Friday Literature Review Session, Monday Continuous Assessment Program review, Allied Health and Practice Management programming, and the Pediatric 7 for 11 rapid-fire update will return. We’ll also explore new topics, such as shared decision making for food immunotherapy, the role of the allergist in new outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases, guidance in discussing complementary and alternative medicine with patients, and vaping-related lung injury.

Plan to attend the 2020 ACAAI Annual Scientific Meeting, Nov. 12 – 16! We are very excited as we look forward to Phoenix and another excellent program. Our Annual Meeting truly is planned with you, our attendees, in mind.
